 On Friday, October 9, the United States Green Building Council North Carolina Chapter (USGBC NC) Cape Fear branch will hold it’s signature event featuring George Bandy, Vice President of Sustainability for Interface, the world’s largest designer and maker of carpet tile. For the event, Mr. Bandy will discuss the viability of green building and its relevance for the continuing residential and business growth of the Wilmington community. The luncheon event will be held at the Burney Center on the campus of the University of North Carolina Wilmington, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by a sustainability walking tour of the campus.     In his role with Interface, Mr. Bandy concentrates on global relationships and translating the company’s sustainability leadership position into a direct market advantage. He is also an internationally renowned speaker and travels extensively as a presenter on such topics as: The Business Case for Sustainability, Innovation and Design with Nature in Mind, Greening the Supply Chain, Social Sustainability & Culture Change, Biomimicry & Biophilic Design.
    Mr. Bandy also serves as the Immediate Past Chairman of the USGBC Board of Directors.
