Energizing a Brighter Resilient Future

Changing Times Require Steady Leadership

With nearly 50 years of history, NCSEA has seen this country’s approach to energy policy vary widely, dating back to our inception out of the oil crisis in the early 1970s. Over this time, despite significant variations in policy approaches, one thing has held true — Americans want reliable, affordable energy. This has led to the significant growth of clean energy technologies, which have always had an important role in delivering reliable power that so many have come to rely upon. Today, the importance of clean energy could not be clearer — our country faces an affordability crisis with electricity prices in the center of the conversation. We know that clean energy is the solution to address this affordability challenge. Even without tax credits, solar, storage, and wind often compete as the lowest-cost-available resources for electricity generation across the board.

Countless investments in policy advocacy and market development have led us to where we are today. But that can’t stop now. We need your support to ensure decisionmakers continue to see the tremendous value clean energy technologies bring to household pocketbooks, community economic development, and in driving decarbonization throughout our electricity sector. Your support enables NCSEA to continue serving as a leader in clean energy policy advocacy — a role that is more important than ever.

Help support NCSEA’s mission for clean, affordable energy solutions

As we look back on a year of both challenges and progress in our fight for policies that make clean energy more attainable for all, we are reminded of one thing: the power of community. Together, we have tackled policy issues, championed clean energy, and made strides toward a sustainable future. We need your support now more than ever.

This year, our goal is ambitious: to expand our clean energy initiatives, impact the lives of all North Carolinians, and advocate for stronger policies. These efforts are not just projects; they are lifelines for our members and North Carolinians. In 2025, NCSEA continued to fulfill our mission to drive public policy and economic development for sustainable energy  through engagement with our individual and business members, advocacy efforts, our collection of data that helps inform decisionmakers, our partnerships with nonprofits and government entities, and through our commitment to telling the clean energy stories of North Carolina residents from all walks of life.

Why Your Support Matters:

    • Accelerating Clean Energy Policy: Your donation will help us represent the interests of underserved communities, promoting renewable energy and programs that can have a positive impact on all North Carolinians. Our mission is to drive policy and market development to create clean energy jobs, economic opportunities, and affordable energy that benefits all of North Carolina.

    • Member Engagement: With your help, NCSEA will represent our members, from the large solar installers to the new energy efficient homebuilder in a small town, creating a sustainable environment for all.

    • Advocacy and Education: We aim to empower more individuals with knowledge and tools to be effective stewards of clean energy. Your contribution supports our outreach and networking programs, including our Making Energy Work Conference.

We believe that a strong clean energy ecosystem in North Carolina is within reach, but we cannot do it alone. Together, we can make a meaningful difference. We invite you to be a part of the journey to help us power a more sustainable future for all.

"Rooftop solar is the most efficient and simple way to reduce our dependence on traditional energy sources. It helps reduce the strain on the electrical grid and lasts for decades with little to no maintenance. 8M Solar is proud to be a leader in the North Carolina residential and commercial solar revolution and NCSEA has been a great partner in helping ensure policies stay favorable for continued proliferation of clean energy across the state and region."

Usman Noor, 8M Solar

"Having the ability to be able to work with a diverse set of partners, understanding the decision-making arenas, the Utilities Commission, the legislators, [NCSEA] is just a real key, critical partner."
