The NC Sustainable Energy Association (NCSEA) announced the newest additions to its Board of Directors, marking the next generation of leadership in its 48th year of operations. This year, the Board will be joined by Jen Weiss (Clean Energy Fund of the Carolinas), Scott Alexander (EnerWealth Solutions), and Nicole Miller (Cypress Creek Renewables). These individuals join with decades of experience leading clean energy nonprofits and businesses and will bring that foresight and expertise to the table to guide NCSEA into the next era of the clean energy transition in North Carolina. Ken Dulaney (NC State University FREEDM) will serve as chair of the 2026 Board of Directors.

Jen Weiss (Clean Energy Fund of the Carolinas, Raleigh, NC) – Weiss is the founder and co-director of the Clean Energy Fund of the Carolinas (formerly the NC Clean Energy Fund), a nonprofit green bank that utilizes public and private capital to catalyze investments in clean and efficient energy and transportation projects in the Carolinas with a focus on traditionally underserved communities. A strong advocate for the importance of creating affordable financing solutions for all, Weiss blends 13 years of consumer and small business banking experience with her climate policy work at Duke University’s Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions and the NC Department of Transportation.
Scott Alexander (EnerWealth Solutions, Chapel Hill, NC) – Alexander, chief strategy officer at EnerWealth Solutions, brings strategic vision and operational leadership gained from his more than six years in the C-suite of a commercial solar developer and construction firm and his previous work in nonprofits and the federal government. Before entering the solar industry, Alexander served in various roles at the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Agency for International Development, and the Millennium Challenge Corporation, and began his federal career as a Presidential Management Fellow. Scott is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer who served in Kenya from 1997-99 and has an undergraduate degree from Auburn University and a master’s degree from Birmingham Southern College.
Nicole Miller (Cypress Creek Renewables, Raleigh, NC) – Miller has worked in the energy industry for more than 10 years, with experience in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainability. Miller has done everything from large scale battery and solar development to Nuclear Asset Management and enjoys working with customers to solve their power needs. Nicole Miller has a Master of Environmental and Energy Management from Duke University.
