2026 Clean Energy in North Carolina (CLE)

Course Goal: This course will explore energy matters currently at issue in North Carolina. Webinar: 2026 Proposed NC Carbon Plan/Integrated Resource Plan

Duke Energy released its proposed Carbon Plan/Integrated Resource Plan on October 1, 2025, for the North Carolina Utilities Commission (NCUC) to consider. The Commission issued its most recent Carbon Plan Order on November 1, 2024, and is expected to issue an updated 2026 Carbon Plan Order before the end of 2026. The Commission is required by North Carolina law to take "all reasonable steps" to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Join NCSEA for a deep dive webinar covering the proposed Carbon Plan and what it means for the electricity sector in North Carolina. We’ll cover various facets of the proposal and discuss what’s next in the Carbon Plan process that will last through next year. Registration is free and open to the public.
